Say vampires were real… what do you reckon they would think of the current vampire fad?

Pre-teen and teenage girls asking if vampires are real, wondering if their boyfriends are vampires, wanting to become vampires themselves; guys thinking being a vampire would be awesome “cuz the chicks dig it” etc.
What do you think vampires would think of this madness if they really existed?

ive actually put a fair amount of thought into this simply because i spend a lot of time on yahoo answers. here is what i think
there are gonna be some good vampires out there who probably have some sort of code they follow (no biting children, only feed at certain hours, stuff like that). so those types of vampires who actually follow the rules in order to avoid persecution would be probably irritated by it, because a lot of the currant vampire stuff out there is a bunch of crap designed to attract preteen girls, and gives a bad name to vampires everywhere
then, like EVERY other group in this world there are going to be the rebels. there are going to be the vampires who really dont give a crap who they bite, when they do it, or how messy it gets. so they are gonna see some little 14 year old who wants to hang out with edward cullen, trick her (or glamor her if we want to use proper vampire terms) into thinking she is going to be safe, and then, murder her basically. so they will appreciate the whole vampire thing because it means easy snacks for them
I think they would think it is prob silly. On the other hand it glorifies them and makes them wantable so their lifestyle would be easier to live. Plus they would be able to get way more food!
I am sure that they would find a way to use it to their advantage.
I’d be pissed off. you know? little girls running around yelling make me sparkle edward! would offend me. vampires don’t sparkle lol. i think people need to realize what reality really is and maybe do a little Research to see what a real vampire is. not some undead 100093847 year old hotty who can run a million miles per hour and will help you find true love. its more of a bad ass thing. “People” with heightened senses and gets weak in the sunlight and needs some blood. i think that they would want people to realize that their not edward and there not gonna whisk them away and carry them to their beautiful mansion in the woods.
One (or any combination) of four options:
(1) Just hold their hands to their head and shake their head.
(2) Smash their head into a wall, repeatedly
(3) Drive a stake in their heart, set themselves on fire, and behead themselves
(4) HUNT!!!
Continuing from the answer above, many real life vampires would be pissed as they are more likely to be seen as nothing more than role players or deluded wannabees.

Well, if the old and new vampires were both real, maybe they’d be like modern politicians in the US, of opposite parties. Just like the politicians, the new and old vamps would probably disagree on everything and really dislike each other. Humm, maybe there’s an idea there for a book. Do you want to write it or should I? The Vampire Political Chronicles, how’s that for a draft title? Sorry Anne Rice.
Some of them would like the newbies and some of them would not. Just like some of us like the new ones and some of us do not. It’d be fun to see, no matter what, you know it’d be done in a book, as XX says, and a movie would be right behind. I might even go see it. There might even be a Romeo and Juliet type story, with one lover from the old vamps and the other from the new vamps. Star crossed lovers redux.

Mary, you have a Great idea. The more vampires the better, so long as they are entertaining, which seems to be the main reason writers make them up, and to make money, of course.
some would probably like all the populaarness.
some may be sickened because they think its terrible to WANT to be a vampire..
