Based on a new trailer out for this week’s episode, it looks like Caroline is set to ask Elena a question that fans have been asking for several months — Is Elena switching Salvatorre brothers. Now that is seems as though Stefan is never coming back, Elena and Damon are developing a closer bond than ever…so close in fact, that now everyone else in their Mystic Falls crew is starting to take notice. What they don’t know though, and what executive producer Julie Plec hinted at is that Stefan is in the midst of trying to figure out how he can get himself out of the situation he’s in — and it’s a situation that is quickly becoming more and more complex. Elena’s brother Jeremy is too distracted with his own romantic drama to take notice that his sister is having some problems of her own. Just as his girlfriend Bonnie returns to town, his dead vampire ex-girlfriend Ana returns as a ghost in a bigger way than ever. stefan and elena. stefan truly loves elena, and understands her and protects her in ways that he knows wont kill her, like bonnie dying for her… damon would of let bonnie die for elena, but stefan knows that would hurt elena more than anything

@danaVampGirl Lets see, in Season 1 when he kinda lost control, and who was the one who was there for Elena? DAMON. He took stefans place and danced with her, he rescued her when she got into that “car accident”, hes saved her SO many times while Stefan just lets her down. Yes, Damon has messed up a lot, but he’s helped her way more than Stefan has ever. With Stefan and Elena its just a take relationship. With Damon and Elena its a give AND take relationship. They make each other a better person

After I gave it lots of thoughts, there is no movie or a show of vampires without a love triangle, Dracula-Mina Muray & Jonathan Harker, Buffy- Angel & Spike , Bella-Edward & Jackob , Sookie-Eric & Bill- Elena-Damon & Stefan , Aren’t they capable of doing other themes.
